Research Peptides

RFK Jr. says Peptides are supplements.

In this clip, RFK Jr. tells Congress that peptides should be treated like supplements — not locked down like mass-marketed drugs that claim a specific medical indication.

He says that distinction has been upheld by the courts for years. He also says the Biden administration improperly moved peptides into a restricted category without a real safety-science basis, and that his team has remediated that by moving them back.

His point is clear: the FDA needs to back off the government overreach and stop putting their hands where they don’t belong on peptides.

Watch the clip, then dig into the research compounds below.

Retatrutide: Two Doctors, Two Angles

Retatrutide is an investigational compound that acts on three hormone receptors (GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon). The two videos above look at it from different sides. Dr. Kevin Joseph focuses on what the clinical trials measured, and Dr. Trevor Bachmeyer focuses on why he believes it works, which he says is by calming chronic inflammation.

What the Trials Showed (Dr. Kevin Joseph, DO)

  • Weight loss: an average of 24 percent (Phase 2, 48 weeks at the top dose), rising to about 29 percent in Phase 3 (68 weeks).
  • Fatty liver: liver fat dropped by up to 82 to 86 percent, and it returned to normal (under 5 percent) in 86 to 93 percent of participants at higher doses.
  • Knee arthritis: knee pain was reduced by over 75 percent in a trial of people with knee osteoarthritis.
  • Blood fats: triglycerides fell by up to 40.6 percent, ApoB by up to 24 percent, non-HDL cholesterol by up to 27 percent, and ApoC3 by up to 36 percent, with fewer small, dense LDL particles.
  • Kidneys: filtering speed improved, and less protein leaked into the urine (an early marker of kidney damage).
  • Blood sugar: insulin sensitivity, blood sugar control, and overall metabolic health improved.
  • Still being studied: possible benefits for sleep apnea and brain health, where the signals so far are early or preclinical.

Why It May Work: Inflammation (Dr. Trevor Bachmeyer)

  • His main point: he calls Retatrutide an anti-inflammatory that also happens to cause weight loss. Chronic inflammation is linked to insulin resistance, fatty liver, heart disease, and visceral belly fat.
  • GLP-1: these receptors sit on immune cells, not just in the gut. Lab and animal research suggests that activating them can quiet NF-kappa-B, the body’s main “on switch” for inflammation.
  • GIP: it is linked to adiponectin, a protective, anti-inflammatory hormone made by healthy fat tissue. Adiponectin rose substantially in the trials.
  • Glucagon: in this combination, it pushes the liver to burn fat and helps clear visceral fat, which is the most inflammatory kind.
  • Inflammation markers: trial data showed CRP (a key marker of inflammation) down about 55 percent and triglycerides down roughly 40 to 50 percent.
  • A real-life story: he describes a close friend who had taken high-dose prednisone for over a decade and has now been off it for six months.

Keeping It Balanced Both doctors are enthusiastic, and the published trial results are impressive. Retatrutide is still investigational and not FDA-approved. Its long-term safety is not yet known. Reported side effects include nausea, digestive upset, and an increased heart rate. Some statistics quoted in the videos could not be matched to published studies. Where the published data differed from what was said in a video, the figures above follow the published data.

Source & Verification Note

The health claims listed above are drawn from public video presentations by two medical doctors: Dr. Kevin Joseph, DO (specializing in obesity medicine and peptide therapy) and Dr. Trevor Bachmeyer. Dr. Joseph’s statements primarily come from his discussion of clinical trial data on a triple hormone receptor agonist, including Phase 2 and early Phase 3 results published in outlets such as The New England Journal of Medicine (2023) and Nature Medicine (2024). Dr. Bachmeyer’s comments come from his presentation on this agent’s anti-inflammatory effects, in which he cites studies in Immunity (2022), The New England Journal of Medicine (2023), and Diabetes Care (2024).

These claims reflect the doctors’ own interpretations and citations as presented in their videos. Some specific numbers, study attributions, and conclusions may not fully match the original peer-reviewed publications, and some rely on laboratory or animal research rather than human trials. Always check claims against the original literature and consult a qualified healthcare professional before drawing any conclusions.

Cellular Energy, Brain Fog, Healthy Aging, Longevity/Anti-Aging!

NAD+ ... The "Cellular Fuel" Molecule?

How Many Practitioners Are Discussing It NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme found in every cell. The body uses it to turn food into energy and to run its DNA-repair and “longevity” signaling pathways. NAD+ levels tend to decline with age, which is why longevity and wellness clinics often present NAD+ support as a way to help cells keep up their energy and repair work. It’s usually framed as cellular support, not as an FDA-approved treatment.

Common purposes doctors mention:

  • Cellular energy: supporting mitochondrial function and ATP production, especially for fatigue and low stamina.
  • Mental clarity: discussed for brain fog, focus, and cognitive-health pathways.
  • Healthy aging: supporting sirtuins (the SIRT1 “longevity” proteins) and DNA-repair signaling that rely on NAD+.
  • Metabolic health: interest in how NAD+ relates to fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity.
  • Recovery: helping cells respond better under stress, exercise, and overall wear and tear.

The usual explanation is that if NAD+ declines with age, restoring it may help cells work more like they did when they were younger. Much of the strongest data comes from animal and early human studies, and large, completed human trials proving anti-aging or cognitive benefits are still limited.

Educational discussion only. This is not medical advice, and NAD+ is not FDA-approved to treat fatigue, cognitive decline, or aging.

Repair Gut Lining, Joint Pain, Anti-Inflammatory, and More!

Wolverine - 2 Peptide Blend

How Many Practitioners Are Discussing It

“Wolverine Blend” is the clinic nickname for pairing BPC-157 with TB-500. Regenerative and sports-medicine practices often promote it for recovery because the two compounds are said to work on different parts of the repair process.

Common purposes doctors mention:

  • BPC-157 is the compound most often discussed for stomach-lining / gut-repair themes, including research interest related to Crohn’s and IBS
  • BPC-157 is also frequently discussed for soft-tissue repair themes such as tendons and ligaments (people often bring up stubborn issues like a torn or irritated rotator cuff in that conversation)
  • TB-500 is commonly discussed for broader muscle and soft-tissue recovery, flexibility, and bouncing back after strain or overuse — the “whole-body recovery” side next to BPC-157’s more localized repair talk
  • Together they’re studied and discussed as a simple repair-focused pair, without the wider anti-aging stack you’ll see in KLOW

The usual explanation: BPC-157 is discussed for more localized repair and blood-vessel signaling; TB-500 is discussed for cell migration and whole-body recovery. That combination logic is popular in practice. It is not the same thing as large, completed human trials proving the stack works.
Educational discussion only — not medical advice, and not a claim that these heal rotator cuffs, Crohn’s, or IBS.

GLOW - 3 Peptide Blend

The GLOW stack takes the “Wolverine” recovery pair (above) and adds GHK-Cu, the copper peptide most often discussed for skin and collagen. It’s the middle step between the two-peptide Wolverine and the four-peptide KLOW. People often look at it when they want recovery plus the “how you look and age” side, without the extra gut focus KLOW brings.

What’s in the stack (research compounds):

  • BPC-157: studied around soft-tissue repair, gut-lining support, and blood-vessel signaling.
  • TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4 fragment): studied around mobility, flexibility, and whole-body recovery.
  • GHK-Cu: studied around collagen support, skin quality, tissue remodeling, and recovery signaling.

Why researchers are intrigued by GLOW:

  • It keeps the Wolverine repair base, with BPC-157 for more localized repair and TB-500 for whole-body recovery.
  • It adds GHK-Cu, which is frequently discussed for collagen, skin firmness and elasticity, and the visible signs of aging. That’s where the “glow” name comes from.
  • It’s often framed as a recovery-plus-skin blend: repair signaling on the inside, and healthier-looking skin and tissue on the outside.
  • It’s built for people who want repair and skin/tissue support in one stack. KLOW then adds KPV for those who also want the gut-inflammation angle.

The usual explanation is that each compound is said to work on a different part of the repair and remodeling process. That combination logic is popular in practice, but it isn’t the same as large, completed human trials proving the stack works.

Educational discussion only. This is not medical advice and not a claim that these heal injuries or reverse aging.

KLOW - 4 Peptide Blend

The KLOW stack builds on GLOW (above), which itself builds on the “Wolverine” recovery combo, and adds KPV.

It’s a four-peptide research combination people often look at when the goal is recovery, gut comfort, and skin/tissue support in one protocol family — instead of chasing one peptide at a time.

What’s in the stack (research compounds):

  • GHK-Cu — studied around tissue remodeling, skin appearance, and recovery signaling
  • BPC-157 — studied around gut lining support and soft-tissue recovery pathways
  • TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4 fragment) — studied around mobility, flexibility, and recovery support
  • KPV — studied around inflammatory balance, especially gut-related comfort

Why researchers are intrigued by KLOW:

  • Starts from the Wolverine recovery pair (BPC-157 + TB-500), then adds GHK-Cu and KPV
  • Keeps the gut-repair theme from BPC-157, with KPV also often discussed for gut inflammation
  • GHK-Cu is frequently discussed for collagen support, skin quality, and tissue remodeling — the “how you look and age” side of the stack
  • Often framed as an anti-aging style blend: less inflammation, more repair signaling, and healthier longer-lasting skin and tissue
  • Built for people who want repair + gut + skin/tissue in one stack, instead of sorting those goals across many single compounds
